2018 Landscape Poster

Provisional schedule for 2018 weekend is:

Saturday 28th April
signing on from 9am
10.30am to 2pm – Pro, Open and Quad Classes
3pm to 6.30pm – Upright Open, Upright Support and 160cc Classes

Sunday 29th April
signing on from 9am
10.30 to 2.30pm – Support, Formula 2, Youth 250 and Youth 500 Classes
3pm to 6.30pm – Youth 125 Open, Youth 125 Support and Novice Classes

Timings will be finalised once the number of entries are known.

Please note there are strict limits on the number of entries for each class. Most are for a limit of 16 riders except Quads which is 10 and the Youth 250 and Youth 500 classes which are limited 8 riders. Entry is by pre-payment of a £25 deposit via Paypal to scunthorperaceway@virginmedia.com. The balance (£20 for adult classes and £10 for youth classes will be by cash on the day).

Class definitions:
Pro – aimed at current NL second strings and reserves plus displaced NL heat leaders and others who feel able to challenge for the top title. Riders excluded are those who are either riding in the top two leagues or have an official average above 2.00 in the top two leagues during 2017. Also ineligible in 2018 are those who are riding in the NL in 2018 with a 2017 NL average above 5.

Open – aimed at displaced/retired league riders plus all other open class standard riders. No NL Team place in 2018 (or a 2016 or 2017 NL average of over 6.00) or top two league in 2016-8

Support – aimed at MDL/SDL/NJL standard riders who haven’t had NL chances or ridden in the Open Class

Novice – aimed at riders who don’t fit in the three other adult classes

Upright Open – aimed at the quicker riders who are likely to beat 75 seconds for four laps around Scunthorpe. For those who haven’t ridden Scunthorpe a list of riders who have beaten 75 seconds can be provided

Upright Support – aimed at riders who are unlikely to beat 75 seconds for four laps around Scunthorpe. Once again a list of riders who are likely to fall into this class can be provided

Youth 125 Open – aimed at the quicker riders who are likely to beat 75 seconds for four laps around Scunthorpe. For those who haven’t ridden Scunthorpe a list of riders who have beaten 75 seconds can be provided

Youth 125 Support – aimed at riders who are unlikely to beat 75 seconds for four laps around Scunthorpe. Once again a list of riders who are likely to fall into this class can be provided

160cc – this is an adult class where the upper limit on engine capacity is 160cc but is likely to include a number of 125cc and 140cc bikes

Formula 2 – this is a class where the bikes will be provided by Peter Seaton (see https://www.facebook.com/f2speedway/ for more details) and allocated by ballot on the day

Youth 250 – the rider must be in possession of an SCB Youth 250 licence. Day permits will not be available.

Youth 500 – the rider must be in possession of an SCB Youth 500 licence (or be over 15 and qualify for the 2018 British Youth Championship). Day permits will not be available.

Quads – four wheels 😉
